The Brass Master
A GVGRC member's scratch built all Brass Shay
This all brass scratch built model on display at the Surrey Museum was constructed by a club member over a period of months. One of only four built, there was no detail too small. Truly a work of art.
GVGRC In The Community
The Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club and the Surrey Museum teamed up to launch their ALL Aboard exhibit
On Saturday the 26th of September 2009 the Surrey Museum in Cloverdale officially opened their ALL Aboard exhibit to run from September through to Christmas. Attendance was over 700 people. The GVGRC was there with it's portable layout and of course bells and whistles. Club members ran everything from the latest diesel power to an old logging shay as well as live steam engines (Yes!! powered by steam). We even had a double header live steam running. To protect us from the weather a tent was generously supplied by the Royal Bank and Surrey Museum for the days event . It was a great day. For a complete photo tour click on any one of the images or click Here.
At our Public Train Meets you get to view the high level of detail construction our members go to in order to get their models "Just right." Although the model below was not on display, keeping with the transportation theme, the GVGRC is please to present another member's creation.
Truly Amazing
